Complaining gets a bad rep. But without complaining, you would never find the desire to do something new.
This is how Orker begun. We've been working with brands and projects for a decade, from doing the odd last-minute ad soundtrack to putting together mixtapes for catwalks.
In a project, sound comes in last, with high hopes, but ends up as a sorry compromise between daring and safe, which is to say meaningless stock corporate music. Was that really what you wanted to communicate?
We thought: What if we'd be more ambitious with sound? We want to see if it’s possible to do projects that need not to be buried under layers of irony. Could we even feel proud?
Our first project is a collaboration with Hakola, a Finnish furniture company. Their podcast, titled 'Sohva', premiered this summer. We are most definitely proud of it. Here is the podcast. With 4500 listeners for three episodes, it was a success. Read more about our collaboration (in Finnish) here.
We all need to work, sure, but maybe it could mean something, too? And that something, could it feel meaningful to others? Don't be shy, complain to us: email@example.com.
